Cationic Surfactants

Cationic surfactants are important industrial products, such as used as antimicrobial agents, fiber softeners, electrostatic inhibitors, hydrophobic agents, dyeing aids, etc. Use our diverse range of cationic surfactants list of high-quality materials to meet your diverse needs. The cationic surfactants examples include dodecyl trimethylammonium chloride and tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate which are effective against microorganisms.

Cationic surfactants are mainly nitrogen-containing organic amine derivatives. They only have good surface activity in acidic media; they tend to precipitate out and lose surface activity in alkaline media. Because its main uses are special uses such as bactericides, fiber softeners and antistatic agents, it is used in relatively small amounts compared to anionic and nonionic surfactants. "Cationic Surfactants" on ECHEMI mainly supplies chemicals for cationic surfactants.

More Information

The hydrochloride of hexadecyl amine was shown to have soap-like foaming qualities as early as 1896 by F. Kraft et al., but cationic surfactants have been used as antimicrobial agents since 1928. The cationic surfactants examples are dodecyl trimethylammonium chloride (112-00-5) and idecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (7173-51-5).

Here is common cationic surfactants list:

● Quaternary ammonium salts: such as hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (112-02-7), etc. These have good solubility and emulsifying properties and are commonly used as wetting agents and emulsifiers.

● Amino surfactants: such as hexadecylamine. They have good wetting properties and are commonly used for wetting.

● Acetylamine-based surfactants: such as C16 aminoaldehyde. They have good emulsifying and dispersing properties and are commonly used in industries such as dyes, coatings, and paints.
