trans-Crotonaldehyde

(123-73-9)
Crotonaldehyde (2-butenal, β-methyl acrolein, propylene aldehyde) is similar in structure to acrolein, as both are α,β-unsaturated aldehydes. This structural similarity leads to similar sensitizing and irritating properties of the two compounds. Crotonaldehyde is used industrially in the preparation of other chemicals (chiefly sorbic acid), flavoring agents, and can form endogenously and in the environment.

Tricaprin

(621-71-6)
Tricaprin is a highly refreshing, odorless oil derived from palm oil or coconut oil. It is widely used in food, medicine, cosmetics and other industries and has been proven to have no irritation to the human body. Tricaprin is a commercially available food supplement that promotes the breakdown of lipids by heart muscle cells. In addition to relieving troublesome and painful symptoms in these patients, Tricaprin significantly reduces the buildup of triglycerides in the blood vessels of the heart. Tricaprin is an oral precursor of capric acid (DA), a 10-carbon fatty acid that is the main component of medium-chain triglyceride oil and has potential anti-androgenic and anti-hyperglycemic properties. After oral administration, tridecyl glycerol hydrolyzes to DA, which binds to and partially activates the peroxisome proliferation-activating receptor (PPAR)-γ, as well as PPAR-α and PPAR-β/δ, but does not induce lipogenesis. In addition, tridecyl esters can improve insulin sensitivity and reduce androgen production. Tricaprin is used in cosmetics as an emollient and skin conditioner to help improve product texture and moisturizing properties. Tricaprin is usually extracted using thermal fractionation, and is suitable for oily skin due to its compatibility with human skin and does not clog pores, it has a non-greasy texture, and is added to creams or lotions to improve its elongation, lubricated and soft skin, and filters UV light. Tricaprin is lightweight and non-greasy, making it ideal for skin care products such as creams and lotions. This ingredient is also widely used in hair care products as it can tone the hair dry without making the hair dry heavier. In addition, Tricaprin enhances the spreadability of the formula, leaving skin and hair with a smooth, silky feel. The chemical formula for this component is C33H62O6. Tricaprin is naturally derived and versatile, and is valued in the cosmetics industry for its ability to improve the overall sensory experience of skin and hair care products.
