BAFILOMYCIN C1

(88979-61-7)
Bafilomycin C1 is a selective, reversible inhibitor of vacuolar H+-ATPases (V-ATPases). It blocks these pumps in mammalian, plant, or fungal cells, preventing proton transport and compartment acidification. Bafilomycin C1 has been shown to have angiostatic activity in the chick chorioallantoic membrane assay. It has also been used, when coupled to cellulose, to purify V-ATPases.[Cayman Chemical]

bafilomycin D

(98813-13-9)
The bafilomycins are fungal plecomacrolide antibiotics with a 16-membered lactone ring. They inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria and fungi.Bafilomycin D is a potent inhibitor of vacuolar H+ ATPases (V-ATPases) that inhibits the V-ATPase from the fungus N. crassa with an IC50value of approximately 2 nM. It is about 1,000-fold less effective against the K+-dependent ATPase of E. coli.

Biolimus A9

(851536-75-9)
Umirolimus is a semi-synthetic macrocyclic lactone prepared from rapamycin by selective alkylation of the 42-hydroxy group, providing one of most hydrophobic tacrolimus analogues. Umirolimus has been targeted for use in stents and medical devices to suppress localised immunoreaction. Like all tacrolimus analogues, umirolimus binds to receptor protein, FKBP12. The complex then binds to mTOR and prevents it from interacting with target proteins. Umirolimus is extensively cited in the literature wi

Lactone refers to an organic substance that contains both a carboxyl group and a hydroxyl group in the same molecule, and the two are dehydrated. Organic compounds with one and only one ester group in the ring. Common ones are x=2, 3 or 4, which are called β-, γ- or δ-lactones, respectively. They are generally insoluble in water, easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether, and their density is generally lower than that of water.
