4-Methoxybenzaldehyde

(123-11-5)
4-Methoxybenzaldehyde is obtained by methylating p-cresol to p-cresol methyl ether, and then oxidizing it with manganese dioxide and sulfuric acid; or by oxidizing anisole. 4-Methoxybenzaldehyde can be used in the preparation of spices and organic synthesis. GB 2760--1996 stipulates that it is a edible spice temporarily allowed for use. It is mainly used to prepare flavors such as vanilla, spices, fennel, and caramel. In addition, 4-Methoxybenzaldehyde is the main flavor for the preparation of hawthorn flower fragrance. It can also be used in heavy woody fragrances such as sandalwood, and is also used in soap fragrances. Not only that, 4-Methoxybenzaldehyde is used in the pharmaceutical industry to manufacture antimicrobial drugs such as hydroxyammonium penicillin, and is an intermediate for antihistamine drugs.

4′-Methoxyacetophenone

(100-06-1)
4′-Methoxyacetophenone is a chemical substance commonly used as an intermediate for flavors, fragrances, medicines, and cosmetics. It can be used to synthesize p-methoxyphenylacetic acid through the preparation of 4′-Methoxyacetophenone, thus serving as an intermediate for puerarin. Puerarin is an important medical raw material that has not yet been artificially synthesized. 4′-Methoxyacetophenone can be used in the production of liquid crystal monomers. In the synthesis of high-grade acetylene liquid crystals, 4′-Methoxyacetophenone is used as an initial synthetic raw material. It is still in the research and development stage, but this fine chemical product has market prospects in the field of sunscreen intermediates. The synthesis method of 4′-Methoxyacetophenone includes the following steps: acetonitrile, under the action of protonic acid, first generates an intermediate product called pinner salt, which reacts with phenol. The above product is hydrolyzed to generate phenyl acetate and ammonium salt. Phenyl acetate is rearranged under the action of alkyl sulfonate. After separating and purifying the para-product, it reacts with dimethyl sulfate to finally generate 4′-Methoxyacetophenone.

Perfuming refers to the incorporation of fragrance and aromatic raw materials into cosmetic formulations to impart pleasant scents. According to origin, perfuming agents can be categorized into natural and synthetic types. According to volatility, perfuming agents can be divided into top, middle, and base notes. According to the concentration of fragrance, perfuming agents can be divided into essential oils, which are highly concentrated extracts, and fragrance oils, which are diluted solutions often used in perfumery and cosmetics."Perfuming agents" on ECHEMl mainly supply perfume raw materials.

More Information

Perfuming can enrich products with appealing scents. When incorporated into cosmetic formulations, fragrance compounds interact with other ingredients to create a harmonious blend of scents. This interaction may involve chemical reactions, molecular diffusion, or physical adsorption onto surfaces.

Fragrance compounds used in perfuming are meticulously selected based on their olfactive profiles and compatibility with other ingredients in the formulation. These compounds may include natural extracts, essential oils, synthetic aroma chemicals, or a combination thereof.

Common ingredients used in perfuming:

•Essential oils

•Synthetic aroma chemicals

•Fragrance fixatives

•Solvents and carriers
