In the Indian Ocean, Spanish and French fishing vessels operate mainly in the northern part of the country, and fishing conditions are not ideal. In the Atlantic, European fishing fleets operate in different waters, including the French fleet fishing for yellowfin tuna off Ghana. The price of skipjack tuna in the European market was stable at 1,450 per tonne, while the price of MSC certified yellowfin tuna rose to 2,250 per tonne.

Yellowfin tuna prices in Asia are also on the rise, with 10-20 kg yellowfin tuna in the Philippines quoted at $2,200 per ton and 20 kg yellowfin tuna in the Vigo region of Spain quoted at 2,450 euros per ton.
