Nagase ChemteX came into being in April 2001, as a core chemical product manufacturer within the Nagase Group. This new entity had the advantage of starting life with a wealth of existing human resources, experience, technologies and functions resulting from the progressive mergers of Teikoku Chemical Industries, Nagase Chemicals, Nagase Biochemicals, Nagase-CIBA and Nagase Electronic Chemicals. We like to think of ourselves as "a new company based on history and experience". Our aim is to help customers resolve their particular challenges by providing a range of high-performance chemical products and technologies that contribute to a better society. To be a creator of value that continuously supplies high-performance products. Nagase ChemteX offers a variety of unique products across a broad spectrum of fields. These include formulated epoxy and other highly-functional resins, photoresists and resist delaminates, and other chemicals for the production of semiconductor and liquid crystals, epichlorohydrin derivatives, chelating agents, biocides, bactericides, enzymes, fermented products, bulk pharmaceuticals and intermediates. We have been active in the production of "epichlorohydrin derivatives" and other epoxy resin products since their infancy in the Japanese domestic market. And, we are proud of our considerable experience in manufacturing from intermediates to end products.Sales of Nagase ChemteX now exceed 20 billion yen. As a member of the Nagase Group, which centers on Nagase & Co., a technical information trading company, and consists of more than 100 domestic and offshore enterprises, we are committed to meticulously satisfying customers' requirements on a global scale, taking full advantage of the Group's sound and trusting relationships with customers, and its centralized marketing, trading and R&D functions.One business sector that we are currently targeting for development is the electronics-related field. By capitalizing on the synergy between organic synthesis technologies and denaturing/compounding technologies, together with the various electronics-related resources possessed by Nagase ChemteX and the Nagase Group, we are focusing our energies on the development of new materials in the microelectronics field, such as semiconductors; and in the display device field for example, liquid crystal.We are also pursuing development opportunities in the healthcare field, with particular focus on a new stream of technology that brings together organic synthesis technologies and fermentation/microorganism utilization technologies. In this field, we have established a research and development function that collaborates fully with the R&D Center of Nagase & Co., and outsources from highly sophisticated production functions equipped to handle c-GMP. We are committed to prompt satisfaction of our customers' demands by effectively leveraging both internal and external resources to develop and produce medical intermediates and health foods.
